We’re celebrating the arrival of a new riftborne monster, Diablos, with a special event! Starting with the January 19th update, Riftborne Diablos will appear, and style customization will also become possible for weapons forged from Diablos materials.
During this event, Diablos and other large monsters will be appearing more frequently, and event effects will make it even easier for you to gather monster materials!
Plus, beginning with the same update, style selection will be possible for the heavy bowgun! Check out the full details here.

Monster Appearances
Activity is expected to increase for the following monsters.

Limited-Time Quests
Take on limited-time quests that include slaying Diablos and Goss Harag, and slaying or repelling Kushala Daora. Complete them to earn materials from the target monster, and more!
Heavy Bowgun Style Quest
Take on limited-time quests that include slaying monsters while equipped with a heavy bowgun! Complete them to earn Diablos materials and riftborne materials.

Weapons Forgeable and Upgradeable with Diablos Materials
Weapons forged or upgraded using Diablos materials boast high attack power, even without an element! These weapons come with Heroics, a skill that boosts attack power in critical situations. Master it, and they can become one of your most reliable choices.
Starting with this update, you’ll also be able to forge the sword & shield, great sword, lance, and gunlance! In-game, you’ll also find recommended loadouts for the heavy bowgun, for which style selection has been unlocked, as well as for the hammer. Take this opportunity to forge and upgrade these weapons!
Premium Quests
Premium Quests are quests that can be unlocked by exchanging gems in the in-game shop. Complete these quests to earn valuable rewards!

Additional Information
- All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
- Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
- Riftborne monsters will only start to appear after you have unlocked 8★ monsters on the field.
- Deviljho will appear more frequently in volatile territories.
- During the event, Bazelgeuse will not invade in volatile territories.
- Volatile territories will not occur more frequently during the event.
- Appearances of volatile territories on the field can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies. - Event quests will be available from Monday, January 19th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. – Sunday, January 25th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
