Amass Equipment
Equipment
Each weapon has various characteristics.
- Weapon type, such as sword & shield, great sword, etc.
- An element that monsters may be weak to
- Skills inherent to each weapon
Weapon Types
The playstyle of each weapon greatly differs, so it’s important to find a weapon type that suits you. Each weapon type also comes with a different Special Skill you can use.
*Special Skills are only available on weapons at Grade 2 or above.
*In order to Overgrade to Grade 2 or above, you must become a fully-fledged hunter (HR 11+).
Elements
Using a weapon imbued with an element that a monster is weak to will deal more damage than normal.
- Weapons will display an icon indicating their element.
- Switching weapons to match monsters’ weaknesses is highly recommended.
E.G.: Kulu-Ya-Ku
Elemental weakness: Water
Advantageous weapon: Jagras Edge (water), etc.
Skills
Each weapon comes equipped with skills.
- Unlocked by reaching certain grades.
- Skills and unlock levels can be checked from the equipment details screen.
It’s highly recommended to choose armor that has traits that will give you an advantage against the monster you plan on hunting.
Armor Types
There are 5 types of armor parts that you can forge/upgrade/Overgrade.
About Sets
Armor comes in sets, such as the Leather Set or the Jagras Set, with each piece requiring similar materials.
- Leather Set: Requires gatherable materials, such as Iron Ore, etc.
- Monster Set: Requires materials obtainable from slaying the relevant monster
*Wearing all 5 pieces of the same set does not currently award you with a bonus of any kind, so try mixing and matching pieces of different sets.
Armor Skills
Upgrading a piece of armor to specific grades will unlock skills.
- Skills and unlock levels can be checked from the equipment details screen.
- Skill levels range from Lv1 to Lv5 (there is currently no way to exceed this maximum).
- Tap “View all” to see total skill levels.
*Elemental attack-boosting skills will raise the elemental value of elemental weapons, increasing elemental damage against monsters weak to that element.
You can save combinations of armor pieces into “loadouts”. This lets you instantly switch your armor to match the monster you’re about to face.
