It's time for another Driftsmelting Bonanza!

Get ready because in a week from now, you can expect more Banbaro in forest and swamp habitats and Black Diablos in desert habitats! This is the perfect time to get in your hunts with the usually elusive Black Diablos.
During this event, you’ll have a chance to receive a new type of driftstone in place of regular driftstones when slaying Banbaro or Black Diablos. This new driftstone may grant the Partbreaker skill, which is also included in some armor from Banbaro and Black Diablos.
There’s also a better chance you’ll find a driftstone in your basic rewards during this event so don’t miss out on this prime opportunity to slay more large monsters and upgrade your equipment through driftsmelting.

From Monday, August 19th, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday, August 25th, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (local time)
◆ Event Details
Here’s what to look out for in this event:
- Increased appearances of Banbaro in forest and swamp habitats and Black Diablos in desert habitats.
- Regular appearances of Black Diablos at Hunt-a-thon points.
- Event-exclusive Mysterious Driftstone B may be obtained by slaying any large monster.
- Banbaro and Black Diablos will only drop Mysterious Driftstone B (Pale Driftstones will not drop).
- All other large monsters have a chance of dropping either a regular driftstone or Mysterious Driftstone B.
- The distance required for driftsmelting with driftstones obtained during this event period will be reduced from the usual 5 km to 2.5 km.
*Driftgems including Mysterious Driftgem B will require 5 km. - Mysterious Driftgem B will be eligible for exchanging driftstone shards.
- Mysterious Driftstone B and Mysterious Driftgem B may grant your armor skills such as Partbreaker and Blast Attack.

*Driftstones can be obtained only after completing the pre-season story and when you have space to store new ones.
You can also look forward to new event quests that include slaying Black Diablos and Banbaro. Completing these will earn you Insta-Smelt Solution and various materials. Make it to the end for a Banbaro Great Horn and Black Diablos Marrow.

*During the event, all hunters who have completed the prologue will find more frequent appearances of Banbaro and Black Diablos.
*Driftsmelting can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
*The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
*The distance required to smelt a driftstone acquired before the event period will remain 5 km even if it is smelted during the event period, but the distance required for a driftstone acquired by hunting a monster during the event period will remain 2.5 km after the event period ends.
*The distance required to smelt driftgems obtained by exchanging driftstone shards will remain the same during the event.
