It's a Driftsmelting Bonanza!

Monster alert! We’re expecting increasing activity of Legiana in swamp habitats and Rathalos in forest habitats starting next week. What’s more, we’re even expecting to see more Deviljho in volatile territories!

During this time, you can also look forward to a new type of driftstone as a chance reward in place of regular driftstones when slaying Legiana, Rathalos, or Deviljho. Your chances of finding a driftstone in your basic rewards will also be higher than usual so don’t miss this prime opportunity to hunt as many large monsters as you can and upgrade your equipment via driftsmelting!

What to expect during this event:

• More frequent appearances of Legiana in swamp habitats and Rathalos in forest habitats.
• More frequent appearances of Deviljho in volatile territories.*
  *The frequency of volatile territories will remain the same.
• Deviljho may appear five times in a row at some Hunt-a-thon points.
• Mysterious Driftstone C may be obtained by slaying any large monster for a limited time only.
• Deviljho, Legiana, and Rathalos will only drop Mysterious Driftstone C (Crimson, Cyan, and Pale Driftstones will not drop).
• All other large monsters have a chance of dropping either a regular driftstone or Mysterious Driftstone C.
• The distance required for driftsmelting with driftstones obtained during this event period will be reduced from the usual 5 km to 2.5 km.
  *Driftgems including Mysterious Driftgem C will require 5 km.
• Mysterious Driftgem C will be eligible for exchanging driftstone shards.
• Mysterious Driftstone C and Mysterious Driftgem C may grant your armor the skills Fire Attack, Water Attack, Thunder Attack, Ice Attack, and Dragon Attack.

*Driftstones can be obtained only after completing the pre-season story and when you have space to store new ones.

• You can also look forward to limited-time quests that include slaying large monsters. Completing these will earn you Insta-Smelt Solution, gatherable materials, and monster materials. Make it to the end for Deviljho Saliva!

*During the event period, all hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
*Driftsmelting, as well as the appearance of volatile territories on the field and Deviljho invasions, can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
*The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
*The distance required to smelt a driftstone acquired before the event period will remain 5 km even if it is smelted during the event period, but the distance required for a driftstone acquired by hunting a monster during the event period will remain 2.5 km after the event period ends.
*The distance required to smelt driftgems obtained by exchanging driftstone shards will remain the same during the event.
