2024 is coming to an end, and it’s time for our annual A Happy Hunting New Year celebration!

Get ready for some epic rewards! In the year-end portion of the event, get your hands on exciting rewards including the exclusive Lagombi Christmas Sweater layered equipment, a special hunter medal, and a unique guild card background. Additionally, slaying the featured monsters during the event may reward you with Mysterious Driftstones which appeared in past events, instead of regular driftstones.
What’s more, the New Year portion of the event will feature yet another guild card background different from the year-end one!

Of course, that’s not all—we’re expecting an increase in activity of various monsters across this event season so prepare for plenty of action. Use this opportunity to hunt them, gather materials, and forge or upgrade your weapons and armor.

Dates and Times:

• A Happy Hunting New Year: Final Hunt 2024: From Monday, December 23rd, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. until Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (local time)
• A Happy Hunting New Year: First Hunt 2025: From Wednesday, January 1st, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. until Sunday, January 5th, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (local time)
  *Please note that times differ from usual event times.

Event Details:

◆ A Happy Hunting New Year: Final Hunt 2024
Monday, December 23rd, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. to Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (local time)

Monster appearances:

• During the event, Gold Rathian will appear in desert and swamp habitats and Silver Rathalos will appear in forest and swamp habitats.
• During the event, these monsters will appear more frequently in the following habitats.
  　Pink Rathian: swamp habitat
  　Azure Rathalos: forest habitat
  　Black Diablos: desert habitat
  　Coral Pukei-Pukei: forest habitat
  　Nightshade Paolumu: desert habitat
  *Pink Rathian will appear in low numbers in forest habitats. Additionally, it will only appear in swamp habitats for the duration of this event.
  *Coral Pukei-Pukei will appear in low numbers in swamp habitats.
  *Nightshade Paolumu will appear in low numbers in forest habitats.
• More monsters will appear across the field.

Driftstones:

• During the event, there is a chance you will receive a specific type of driftstone from the following monsters:
  Silver Rathalos, Azure Rathalos: Mysterious Driftstone A
  Gold Rathian, Pink Rathian: Mysterious Driftstone B
  Black Diablos, Coral Pukei-Pukei, Nightshade Paolumu: Mysterious Driftstone C
  *Mysterious Driftstones A, B, and C are the same as those featured in previous events.
  *The monsters listed above will not drop Crimson, Cyan, or Pale Driftstones.
• All other large monsters have a chance of dropping regular driftstones.
• The distance required for driftsmelting with driftstones obtained during this event period will be reduced from the usual 5 km to 2.5 km.
  *Driftgems including Mysterious Driftgems A, B, and C will require 5 km.
• Mysterious Driftgems A, B, and C will be eligible for exchanging driftstone shards.
• Mysterious Driftstone A and Mysterious Driftgem A may grant your armor skills such as Dragon Attack and Critical Boost.
• Mysterious Driftstone B and Mysterious Driftgem B may grant your armor skills such as Partbreaker and Blast Attack.
• Mysterious Driftstone C and Mysterious Driftgem C may grant your armor skills such as Fire Attack, Water Attack, Thunder Attack, Ice Attack, and Dragon Attack.

Hunt-a-thon points:

• There will be some event-exclusive Hunt-a-thon points that feature only Gold Rathian and Pink Rathian or only Silver Rathalos and Azure Rathalos.

Limited-time quests:
Take on limited-time quests that include collecting Palisnow and slaying large monsters.
*Palisnow can be collected at gathering points in any habitat.

Main rewards lineup:

• During the event, these monsters will appear more frequently in the following habitats.
  　Deviljho: forest / desert / swamp / tundra habitats
  　Zinogre: forest / swamp / tundra habitats
  　Mizutsune: forest / tundra habitats
  　Rajang: desert / swamp habitats
  *Mizutsune will appear in low numbers in swamp habitats.
  *Rajang will appear in low numbers in forest and tundra habitats.
  *Deviljho will appear more frequently within volatile territories.
  *Volatile territories will not occur more frequently.
• More monsters will appear across the field.

Hunt-a-thon points:

• There will be some event-exclusive Hunt-a-thon points that feature only the monsters listed above.

Limited-time quests:
Take on limited-time quests that include slaying large monsters.

Main rewards lineup:

• Exclusive First Hunt 2025 guild card background
• Monster materials including Deviljho Saliva, a Zinogre Plate, Mizutsune Plate, and Gold Rajang Pelt
• Gatherable materials including Iron Ore

*The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
*During the pre-season story, appearance rates of large monsters will be adjusted based on your story progression.
*Driftstones can be obtained only after completing the pre-season story and when you have space to store new ones.
*The distance required to smelt a driftstone acquired before the event period will remain 5 km even if it is smelted during the event period, but the distance required for a driftstone acquired by hunting a monster during the event period will remain 2.5 km after the event period ends.
*The distance required to smelt driftgems obtained by exchanging driftstone shards will remain the same during the event.
*Quests for A Happy Hunting New Year: Final Hunt 2024 will be available from Monday, December 23rd, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. until Tuesday, December 31st, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (local time).
