Ready for another Driftsmelting Bonanza?!

During this event, Seregios, Zinogre, Viper Tobi-Kadachi, Brute Tigrex, and more will be appearing more frequently. Group hunt rewards will also be boosted, so be sure to make use of Friend Link and hunt together with others!

A new driftstone, Mysterious Driftstone O, is on the way. It may grant armor skills such as Morph Boost, Burst, and Critical Boost. In addition, a new Driftsmelting Quest will reward driftstone shards, which can help you obtain new skills!

Riftcharged Rathalos is also coming soon to Base Defense. Prepare by using driftsmelting to add skills and further upgrade your equipment!

• Guaranteed second slot of monster materials for group hunt rewards.

Driftstone bonus

• Chance of receiving Mysterious Driftstone O from all large monsters.
  • Guaranteed to receive one from the featured monsters and Kirin, as well as from Riftborne Deviljho and Riftborne Tobi-Kadachi in Hunt-a-thons (regular driftstones will not drop).
  • Chance of receiving either Mysterious Driftstone O or a Crimson/Azure/Amber/Cyan/Pale/Black Driftstone from all other large monsters.
• Distance required for driftsmelting with driftstones obtained during this event period reduced to 1 km.

New Driftstone & Driftgem

Collect a new driftstone, Mysterious Driftstone O, and exchange driftstone shards for the new Morph Boost Driftgem.

• Mysterious Driftstone O may grant your armor one of the following skills: Morph Boost, Burst, or Critical Boost.
• Morph Boost Driftgem will grant your armor the Morph Boost skill.

About the Morph Boost Skill

Mysterious Driftstone O may grant your armor Morph Boost.

• Skill name: Morph Boost
  Skill effect: Increases damage for 15 seconds after either morphing a switch axe/charge blade, or entering/exiting Demon Mode while using dual blades.

Take on limited-time quests that include slaying Seregios and Viper Tobi-Kadachi. Complete them to earn materials for the target monster!

Limited-Time Quests: Driftsmelting Quest

Take on limited-time quests that involve driftsmelting. Complete them to earn a Wyvern Gem Shard and Armor Refining Parts!

Collect driftstone shards to exchange for driftgems, which guarantee a specific skill. Prepare for next week’s Riftcharged Rathalos by exchanging for Thunder Attack Driftgem, or collect the newly added Morph Boost Driftgem available during this event. Choose the driftgem you want and upgrade your equipment!

Morph Boost is effective with dual blades, switch axe, and charge axe. Be sure to check out the recommended loadout using dual blades in-game. Use driftsmelting to add Morph Boost to your armor and upgrade this recommended loadout even further!

Celebrate the Insect Glaive’s Arrival With Driftgems in the Shop

To celebrate the arrival of the insect glaive, driftgems will be available in the in-game shop. Use them to experiment with different equipment combinations!

◆ Thunder Attack Driftgem
An item that allows you to grant a skill to your armor via driftsmelting. This one is guaranteed to grant the Thunder Attack skill.

Skill effect:
Increases weapon’s thunder-element value.

◆ Burst Driftgem
An item that allows you to grant a skill to your armor via driftsmelting. This one is guaranteed to grant the Burst skill.

Skill effect:
Landing consecutive hits in a short span of time increases attack power for 4 seconds.

Additional Information

• All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
• Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
• Riftborne monsters will only start to appear after you have unlocked 8★ monsters on the field.
• Driftsmelting and driftsmelting quests can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
• The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
• See here for details on how to enjoy driftsmelting.
• Event quests will be available from Monday, April 6th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. – Sunday, April 12th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
• The distance required to smelt a driftstone acquired before the event period will remain the same even if it is smelted during the event period, but the distance required for a driftstone acquired by hunting a monster during the event period will remain 1 km after the event period ends.
• The distance required to smelt driftgems obtained by exchanging driftstone shards will remain the same during the event.
• Check in-game for details of the skills granted by driftstones.
