Beta Test for a New Feature: Exploration Bases!

We’re launching a beta test for a new feature that is currently in development for Monster Hunter Now: Exploration Bases!

Exploration bases are local landmarks that hunters can grow together by collecting Exploration Emblems (found at gathering points (L), etc.) and submitting exploration reports. Work with other hunters in your area to uplevel your base!

To close out the test, the final two days will feature monster outbreaks at exploration bases. The higher the base’s level, the greater the slaying goal - but also the rewards!

Your feedback during this beta period is incredibly valuable. We’d love to hear from you via the Community Forum or on social media!

Notes

Due to system specifications, Exploration Emblems will continue to drop for several weeks after the beta test period ends. Thank you for your understanding.

How to Enjoy Exploration Bases

  1. Collect Exploration Emblems from gathering points (L), Hunt-a-thon points, and Elder Dragon Interception points.
  2. Submit Exploration Emblems to the exploration base to make an exploration report. The more reports you submit, the more the base will grow, increasing its level. You can access the nearest exploration base via the “Exploration Base” button in the bottom-right corner of the main screen. You do not need to be within range to access a base.
  3. Sending exploration reports increases your base reputation. Hunters who earn the most base reputation at each base will appear on the leaderboard.
  4. At the end of the beta test, monster outbreaks will occur at exploration bases.

Help Page

Notes

  • To submit an exploration report, you must send 5 Exploration Emblems at once.
  • The type and number of Exploration Emblems required to level up a base vary by level.
  • When you submit a report, your hunter name, appearance, and the Emblems you submitted will be displayed on the base’s main and detail screens, visible to other Hunters.

Adjustments & Improvements to Monster Outbreaks

Thank you for all the valuable feedback following the monster outbreak test conducted in April 2025. Based on that feedback, several adjustments and improvements have been made for this beta test:

  • You can now check directions to an exploration base via your smartphone’s map app. Tap “View on Map” at the base, then select “Get Directions.”
  • After slaying an outbreak monster, you can now jump directly into the next hunt from the hunt report screen.
  • The afternoon time slot for monster outbreaks has been changed.
  • You can now use the sign-up roster at only one exploration base at a time. Signing up at a different base will overwrite the previous selection.

Additional Information

  • Make sure your app is updated to v101 or beyond to be able to view exploration bases.
  • After the beta test ends, all data related to exploration bases, including their status, exploration report history, Exploration Emblems (including those released during the post-test period), and base reputation, will be deleted and will not carry over to the official release. However, any rewards you’ve obtained will not be deleted, so you can keep them with confidence.
  • The number of exploration reports required for base growth may be rebalanced based on the results of this beta test. Please note that reaching the maximum level may still be difficult.
  • In accordance with the Niantic Player Guidelines, please play responsibly and stay aware of your surroundings at all times. Be mindful not to disturb others, including fellow hunters, nearby pedestrians, and local residents.
  • Exploration bases may be removed during the test period. If this happens, please join another nearby exploration base instead.
  • All information in this blog post reflects features currently in development. The contents and schedule of this test are subject to change or cancellation without notice.
  • The official release timing and final details of exploration bases are still undecided. The final feature may differ significantly from what is presented during this test. Test results may also lead to future adjustments.
  • If you have questions about exploration bases, please first check the help page here (available in Japanese and English only). It will be updated as needed. If you still need help or would like to provide direct feedback, please contact us via in-app support.
