2025 is nearly over, and once again we’re celebrating the New Year with A Happy Hunting New Year!

This year’s New Year event is packed with new event-exclusive equipment and layered equipment. Work to complete the Global Challenge with hunters around the world and earn materials to forge and upgrade the event-exclusive weapon Wrapping Bow. The Wrapping Bow is a featured defense weapon in Base Defense, granting bonus points, so let’s all aim to obtain it together!

During the event, slay rewards for all large monsters in the field and Elder Dragon Interception rewards will be increased. Make use of Monster Investigations and other features to gather as many materials as you need.
In the second half of the event, only Elder Dragon Interceptions will occur at points where Hunt-a-thons and Interceptions usually occur. Additionally, the access range will be expanded by 50% at all times, making it much easier to join Interceptions!

Event-Exclusive Equipment

Event-exclusive equipment inspired by the New Year event is on the way! The Twin Wreathes are the first paralysis element dual blades to appear in Monster Hunter Now. The Wrapping Bow is also designated as a featured defense weapon for Base Defense, granting bonus points when used. Both items are event-exclusive, so don’t miss out!

Event-Exclusive Layered Equipment

The head piece of the Festive Tree layered equipment can be obtained from the Event Exchange Hub. It’s a high-difficulty reward, and only hunters who fully dive into the event will be able to earn it.
Give it a try and aim to claim it!

How To Enjoy the Event

1. Complete A Happy Hunting New Year 2026 I & Forge Event-Exclusive Dual Blades: Twin Wreathes

Complete the A Happy Hunting New Year 2026 I Event Quest to earn a Winter 2025 Dual Blades Forging Ticket, which can be used to forge the event-exclusive dual blades, Twin Wreathes!

  • Winter 2025 Dual Blades Upgrade Tickets can be used to upgrade your Twin Wreathes. They can also be collected as rewards for slaying large monsters and for slaying/repelling elder dragons.

2. Complete the A Happy Hunting New Year 2026 Global Challenge & Forge the Event-Exclusive Bow: Wrapping Bow

The A Happy Hunting New Year 2026 Global Challenge Event Quest will be available for all hunters to take on together. During the event, the total number of large monsters slain by hunters around the world will be tracked in real time!
By completing this quest, you can earn rewards such as the Winter 2025 Bow Forging Ticket, the Banbaro Christmas Sweater layered outfit, and 5 Wyvern Gem Shards. Using the materials included in these rewards, you’ll be able to upgrade the event-exclusive bow, the Wrapping Bow, all the way to Grade 10. Be sure to forge and upgrade it during the event!

3. Collect Various Items at the Event Exchange Hub

Winter 2025 Exchange Hub

Slaying large monsters, slaying/repelling elder dragons, and completing certain quests will let you collect Winter 2025 Exchange Tokens. These can be exchanged at the Event Exchange Hub for the Festive Tree Layered Head and Lagombi Christmas Sweater layered equipment from last year, as well as other items.

4. Make Use of Event Effects & Campaigns to Forge & Upgrade Equipment

During the event, Astalos and Khezu will appear more frequently, and the slay rewards for all large monsters in the field will be boosted. A variety of campaigns will also be held. Take this opportunity to forge and upgrade your equipment as much as possible!
Monster Investigations will also make it easier to find your target monsters, so be sure to take advantage of them.

Event Effects

• More slay rewards for large monsters

  • Receive two of each material in the first and second slots of basic rewards when slaying monsters on the field.

• More rewards for Elder Dragon Interceptions

  • Receive two of each material in the first to fourth slots of basic rewards.

• Find more dimensionally linked monsters

• Certain equipment boosted

  • Event-exclusive weapons Twin Wreathes and Wrapping Bow.

In addition to the above, the following will be added from Monday, December 29th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. (local)

• Access range increased by 50%

• Double materials for slaying small monsters and at gathering points

• More Elder Dragon Interception occurrences
  Only Elder Dragon Interceptions will occur at points where both Elder Dragon Interceptions and Hunt-a-thons usually occur.

• More rewards for Elder Dragon Interceptions

  • Receive a guaranteed Gleaming Egg or Dazzling Egg.

Event Exclusive: Riftborne Monsters Investigation

During the event, Monster Investigations will make it easier to find riftborne monsters.

• Excludes Deviljho, which appears as an invading monster.

Hunt-a-thons and Elder Dragon Interceptions Held 24 Hours a Day

The operating hours for Hunt-a-thons and Elder Dragon Interceptions will be extended for the duration of the event.

This expansion may allow you to match with hunters in regions where time differences usually make matching difficult, or with hunters who have different daily schedules than your own. Let’s enjoy hunting with Hunters from around the world!

Normal Operating Hours: Approximately 6:15 AM to 11:45 PM
Operating Hours During Event: 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM (24 hours)

Upgrade Material Requirements Reduced!

During the following times, the materials needed to upgrade the event-exclusive equipment Twin Wreathes and Wrapping Bow will be greatly reduced! You can upgrade your equipment up to a certain grade using only Winter 2025 Dual Blades Upgrade Tickets and Winter 2025 Bow Upgrade Tickets, without using Zenny or gatherable materials.

• After the event ends, Winter 2025 Dual Blades Upgrade Tickets and Winter 2025 Bow Upgrade Tickets will no longer be required, but the type and amount of materials needed will increase.
• You may need to restart the app for the changes to take effect properly.

Additional Information

• All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
• Event-exclusive equipment may become available again at a later date.
• To upgrade event-exclusive equipment, you may need not only specified tickets but also monster materials.
• Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
• The Event Exchange Hub will be available until Sunday, January 11th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time).
• Exchangeable materials will be removed from your Item Box once the exchange period ends. Be sure to trade them in before it ends.
• Riftborne monsters will only start to appear after you have unlocked 8★ monsters on the field.
• Appearances of volatile territories on the field can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
  The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
• During specific times, Bazelgeuse will not invade in volatile territories.

• Volatile territories will not occur more frequently during the event.
