The insect glaive is coming to Monster Hunter Now!
The insect glaive is a weapon type that lets you command a Kinsect to empower yourself while hunting. It excels at leaping attacks and striking from midair.
When attacking, the Kinsect harvests extract. Once the Extract Gauge fills, the hunter enters a charged state. In this state, combos change and more powerful attack actions become available. Kinsects vary by weapon, with differences in attack actions and damage type, such as severing or blunt.
The Special Skill Descending Thrust (SP) can be activated even while attacking in midair, driving a powerful strike down from above the monster’s head.
We’ve also prepared limited-time quests to help you make the most of the insect glaive. Master it and gain the upper hand in your hunts!

Insect Glaive Training Quest
For a limited time only, take on the Insect Glaive Training Quest! You’ll be able to forge the Bone Staff using Insect Glaive Training Tickets from this quest.
Main rewards lineup:

- Gatherable materials including Monster Bone+
Additional Information
- Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
- Beginner Weapon Tickets cannot be used to forge and upgrade the Bone Staff.
- Insect Glaive Training Tickets cannot be used to forge and upgrade other types of insect glaives.
- Event quests will be available from Thursday, March 19th, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. – Sunday, May 31st, 2026, at 2:59 p.m. (UTC). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
