To celebrate the arrival of the new riftborne monsters, Somnacanth and Banbaro, we’re holding a special event! Starting with the April 20 update, Riftborne Somnacanth and Riftborne Banbaro will appear, and weapons forged from their materials will become eligible for style customization!

During this event, large monsters such as Somnacanth and Banbaro will appear more frequently, and event effects will make it easier to collect monster materials.

In addition, charge blade style selection will also become available with the same update! For more details, please see here.

Monster Appearances

Activity is expected to increase for the following monsters.

• Somnacanth (including Riftborne)

• Seregios
• Brute Tigrex
• Nightshade Paolumu
• Goss Harag

Activity is expected to increase for the following elder dragon at Elder Dragon Interception points.

• More rewards for Hunt-a-thons

  • Receive two of each material in the first and second slots of basic rewards.
  • Chance of receiving 10 additional Rarity 1 materials from the slain monster.

• More rewards for group hunts

  • Guaranteed second slot of monster materials for group hunt rewards.

Limited-Time Quests

Take on limited-time quests that include slaying Somnacanth and Banbaro. Complete them to earn materials from the target monster!

Charge Blade Style Quest

Take on limited-time quests that include slaying monsters while equipped with a charge blade! Complete them to earn Great Girros materials and riftborne materials.

Weapons primarily forged from Great Girros materials have the paralysis element, making them especially effective in group hunts. Take this opportunity to forge and upgrade a paralysis element charge blade, and try it out in group hunts with Friend Link!

Weapons Forgeable and Upgradeable with Somnacanth Materials

Weapons forged and upgraded using Somnacanth materials boast high sleep element values! They also come with negative affinity, making them a great match for Critical Ferocity, which grants a chance of negative affinity damage, and Rude Awakener, which increases the damage of the first attack dealt to sleeping monsters.

In addition, these weapons include Evade Extender, making it easier to position behind monsters. Pair this with Status Sneak Attack, which increases the probability of inflicting status ailment buildup when attacking a monster from behind. Combine them and aim to put monsters to sleep!

Premium Quests

Premium Quests are quests that can be unlocked by exchanging gems in the in-game shop. Complete these quests to earn valuable rewards!

• Activate Premium Quests:

In addition to the above, completing each quest will grant Hunter Rank Points, Season Tier Points, and more. See the in-game Shop for details.

Additional Information

• All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
• Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
• Riftborne monsters will only start to appear after you have unlocked 8★ monsters on the field.
• Event quests will be available from Monday, April 20th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. – Sunday, April 26th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
