Another Driftsmelting Bonanza is on the way!

During the event, monsters such as Stygian Zinogre and Bazelgeuse will appear more frequently!

A new driftstone, Mysterious Driftstone R, also arrives. It may grant armor skills such as Burst, Reflection, and Dauntless. In addition, a new Driftsmelting Quest will reward an Earplugs Driftgem and driftstone shards. Use them to unlock new skills!

Base Defense is almost here! Prepare for the arrival of Riftcharged Banbaro by using driftsmelting to upgrade your equipment even further!

Driftstone bonus

• Chance of receiving Mysterious Driftstone R from all large monsters.
  • Guaranteed to receive one from the featured monsters and Deviljho in Hunt-a-thons (incl. Riftborne) (regular driftstones will not drop).
  • Chance of receiving either Mysterious Driftstone R or a Crimson/Azure/Amber/Cyan/Pale/Black Driftstone from all other large monsters.
• Distance required for driftsmelting with driftstones obtained during this event period reduced to 1 km.

New Driftstone

Collect a new driftstone, Mysterious Driftstone R.

• Mysterious Driftstone R may grant your armor one of the following skills: Burst, Reflection, or Dauntless.

Take on limited-time quests that include slaying Stygian Zinogre and Bazelgeuse. Complete them to earn materials for the target monster!

Limited-Time Quests: Driftsmelting Quest

Take on limited-time quests that involve driftsmelting. Complete them to earn an Earplugs Driftgem, driftstone shards, and Armor Refining Parts!

Earplugs Driftgem
Earplugs Lv. 1 nullifies the effects of weak monster roars, and slightly reduces the effects of strong monster roars. This is a highly useful skill that can improve your hunting experience and create more opportunities to attack, so be sure to take advantage of this chance to add it to your lineup!

You can also collect driftstone shards and exchange them for driftgems that guarantee specific skills. Below are our recommended driftgems for next week’s Riftcharged Banbaro!

• Dauntless Driftgem
  Dauntless increases damage for 10 seconds after performing a forward evasion. It’s especially effective for weapon types that frequently incorporate evading into their playstyle.

• Reflection Driftgem
  After successfully guarding, Reflection returns damage at close range, proportional to the power of the received attack. This skill is recommended for guard-focused strategies.

• Dragon Attack Driftgem
  Dragon Attack increases your weapon’s dragon-element value. By raising it to Lv. 5, you can activate Advanced Dragon Attack, an equipment skill found on Stygian Zinogre armor. Dragon element is one of Riftcharged Banbaro’s elemental weaknesses, making it a strong choice.

Exchange for the driftgem of your choice and upgrade your equipment!

Recommended Armor for Driftsmelting

If you’re not sure where to start, we recommend adding Reflection, which lets you play safely through guarding while also dealing damage. Here’s an example lance build that works particularly well with Reflection!

Additional Information

• All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
• Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
• Riftborne monsters will only start to appear after you have unlocked 8★ monsters on the field.
• Driftsmelting and driftsmelting quests can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
• The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
• Appearances of volatile territories on the field can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
• Bazelgeuse will appear more frequently in volatile territories.
• During the event, Deviljho will not appear in volatile territories.
• Volatile territories will not occur more frequently during the event.

• Event quests will be available from Monday, July 6th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. – Sunday, July 12th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
• The distance required to smelt a driftstone acquired before the event period will remain the same even if it is smelted during the event period, but the distance required for a driftstone acquired by hunting a monster during the event period will remain 1 km after the event period ends.
• The distance required to smelt driftgems obtained by exchanging driftstone shards will remain the same during the event.
• Check in-game for details of the skills granted by driftstones.
• Quests and rewards are subject to change without notice.
