As Season 9 nears its end, get ready for the Season 9 Climax event!

During this event, monsters introduced in Season 9 will once again become more active, and hunt rewards will be increased! In particular, make sure to hunt plenty of Viper Tobi-Kadachi and Glavenus to collect the materials needed to forge and upgrade featured defense weapons that shine against Riftcharged Legiana.

This event also features different quest lineups depending on whether monsters appearing in your field at the start of the event are 8★ or higher, or 7★ and below! The 7★ and below quests are designed to be easier than the 8★ and above version, making them a great way to get used to forging and upgrading equipment while taking on event quests.
There’s even more to enjoy, including boosted Daily Quest rewards and guaranteed fifth-slot rewards from Hunt-a-thons, so now’s your chance to collect the materials you’ve been missing and upgrade your equipment!

In addition, the Mysterious Driftstones first introduced in Season 9 are making a return! Use driftsmelting to add skills such as Morph Boost and Retaliation to your armor.

Base Defense Wave 3 for Season 9 will run from June 8 (Mon) to June 16 (Tue)!
Upgrade your equipment, challenge Riftcharged Legiana, and close out Season 9 in style!

Monster Appearances

Activity is expected to increase for the following monsters.

• Viper Tobi-Kadachi
• Glavenus (including Riftborne)
• Pukei-Pukei (including Riftborne)
• Somnacanth (including Riftborne)
• Zinogre (including Riftborne)
• Seregios
• Almudron
• Espinas

Elder Dragon Appearances

Only the following elder dragon will appear at Elder Dragon Interception points.

Event Effects

• Increased rewards for slaying featured monsters

  • Receive two of each material in the first and second slots of basic rewards.

• More rewards for Hunt-a-thons

  • Receive two of each material in the first and second slots of basic rewards.
  • Chance of receiving 10 additional Rarity 1 materials from the slain monster.
  • Guaranteed fifth slot
    • Chance of receiving a Rarity 6 material in the fifth slot will be greatly increased to 20% (only for 8★+ monsters).

• Daily Quest reward increase

  • Receive double rewards from Daily Quests distributed between Monday, June 8th, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. and Wednesday, June 17th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time).
    • Extra quests received through the Extreme Hunter Pass are also eligible.

• Driftstone bonus

  • Chance of receiving Mysterious Driftstone O, P, or Q from all large monsters.
    • Guaranteed to receive one from the featured monsters (regular driftstones will not drop).
    • Chance of receiving Mysterious Driftstone O, P, Q, or a Crimson / Azure / Amber / Cyan / Pale / Black Driftstone from all large monsters, excluding the featured monsters.
  • Distance required for driftsmelting with driftstones obtained during this event period reduced to 1 km.

• Chance to collect Shining Eggs and more

  • Chance of Shining Egg or Gleaming Egg as a reward for slaying one of the featured monsters on the field.
  • Chance of Gleaming Egg or Dazzling Egg as a reward for Hunt-a-thons and for slaying or repelling elder dragons in Elder Dragon Interceptions.

Eggs can be exchanged for Zenny by tapping the button to the right of the sort function in your Item Box. For details on how to exchange them, check out the FAQ.

The following skills may be granted by these Mysterious Driftstones. See the FAQ for more details.

Limited-Time Quests

Event quests change based on the strength of monsters appearing on the field

The limited-time quests for the Season 9 Climax event will vary depending on the strength (★) of monsters appearing on the field.

1. Hunters with 8★ or higher monsters appearing on the field
2. Hunters with 7★ or lower monsters appearing on the field

Here’s a look at some of the rewards you can earn by completing the quests!

• Aside from the rewards listed above, you can earn the same materials and zenny in both quest types.

Quests distributed to group 1 are more challenging than those for group 2, featuring objectives such as slaying or repelling Chameleos and slaying an 8★ or higher Glavenus.

• By completing the season story, you can unlock monsters with higher ★ levels than the monster that appeared in the final urgent quest of the story.
• You can check the strength of field monsters not only by the ★ level of monsters appearing in the field, but also by the monster strength available in the Monster Tracker.

Notes

• Some quest objectives and the number of quests differ between groups 1 and 2.
• Even if you unlock 8★ monsters during the event period, the Season 9 Climax quest lineup will not change.
• You cannot play both the 1 and 2 quest sets.

Season 9 Climax: Special Field Hunt Ticket

By purchasing a Special Field Hunt Ticket, you can enjoy various bonuses to help you in your hunts! Exclusive quests will also be available only to ticket holders. Make the most of this ticket to enhance your hunting experience!

• Effects of the Special Field Hunt Ticket

  • Unlimited use of Paintballs.
  • Large monsters reappear in just 30 minutes.
  • The access range will be expanded by 50% at all times, and you will get double the materials from slaying small monsters and from gathering points.
    Cannot be combined with a Wander Orb, Wander Droplet, or Wander Powder.
  • Take on limited-time quests.
    No Hunter Medals will be awarded as quest rewards.

• During the following times, the only monsters that will appear on the field are: Viper Tobi-Kadachi, Glavenus (including Riftborne), Zinogre (including Riftborne), and Seregios.

  • 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

• Separate tickets will be available for Jun. 12 (Fri), Jun. 13 (Sat), Jun. 14 (Sun), Jun. 15 (Mon), and Jun. 16 (Tue).

• Ticket effects will apply from 9:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (local time) on the corresponding date.

• Ticket sales are planned to begin around Jun. 8 (Mon).

• Tickets can be purchased via the in-app Shop, the Special Quests tab, or the Web Store. Purchases made through the Web Store include a bonus Item Box Expansion.

• The Extreme Hunter Pass is also on sale, making unlimited Paintballs even more effective by increasing your Paintball list capacity by +20. Be sure to combine them for maximum benefit!

• All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.

• Driftsmelting can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
• The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
• Event quests will be available from Monday, June 8th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. – Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
• Driftstones can be obtained when you have space to store new ones.
• The distance required to smelt a driftstone acquired before the event period will remain the same even if it is smelted during the event period, but the distance required for a driftstone acquired by hunting a monster during the event period will remain 1 km after the event period ends.
• The distance required to smelt driftgems obtained by exchanging driftstone shards will remain the same during the event.
