A special event is coming to celebrate the arrival of two new riftborne monsters: Glavenus and Pukei-Pukei!

Starting with the May 18 update, Riftborne Glavenus and Riftborne Pukei-Pukei will appear, and style customization will be unlocked for weapons forged from their materials. During the event, large monsters such as Glavenus and Pukei-Pukei will appear more frequently, and event effects will make it easier to collect monster materials.

Plus, style selection for the switch axe will also be unlocked in the same update! Check out the full details here.

Monster Appearances

Activity is expected to increase for the following monsters.

• Glavenus (including Riftborne)
• Pukei-Pukei (including Riftborne)
• Viper Tobi-Kadachi
• Rajang
• Nightshade Paolumu
• Goss Harag
• Bazelgeuse

Elder Dragon Appearances

Activity is expected to increase for the following elder dragon at Elder Dragon Interception points.

Event Effects

• More rewards for Hunt-a-thons

  • Receive two of each material in the first and second slots of basic rewards.
  • Chance of receiving 10 additional Rarity 1 materials from the slain monster.

• More rewards for group hunts

  • Guaranteed second slot of monster materials for group hunt rewards.

Limited-Time Quests

Take on limited-time quests that include slaying Glavenus and Pukei-Pukei. Complete them to earn materials from the target monster!

Switch Axe Style Quest

Take on limited-time quests that include slaying monsters while equipped with a switch axe! Complete them to earn Glavenus materials and riftborne materials.

Weapons primarily forged from Glavenus materials have the fire element, which is the weakness of Riftcharged Legiana, who will be appearing in Base Defense. Glavenus weapons are also featured defense weapons, so take this chance to forge and upgrade your switch axe to get ready for the upcoming Base Defense!

Weapons Forgeable and Upgradeable with Glavenus Materials

Weapons forged and upgraded using Glavenus materials boast high fire element values!
By overgrading them to grade 8, the armor skill Critical Ferocity will be unlocked. Critical Ferocity is a skill that has a chance to increase negative affinity damage. When both Critical Ferocity and negative affinity activate, you can deal extremely powerful damage to monsters!
Since Glavenus weapons come with negative affinity, unlocking the skill gives you more chances to activate Critical Ferocity.

In-game, you’ll find a recommended bow loadout featuring Critical Ferocity Lv. 5, as well as a recommended charge blade loadout that uses Morph Boost to increase damage dealt after morphing for a limited time. Be sure to check them out!

Premium Quests

Premium Quests are quests that can be unlocked by exchanging gems in the in-game shop. Complete these quests to earn valuable rewards!

Additional Information

• All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
• Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
• Appearances of volatile territories on the field can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
• The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
• Riftborne monsters will only start to appear after you have unlocked 8★ monsters on the field.
• Bazelgeuse will appear more frequently in volatile territories.
• During the event, Deviljho will not appear in volatile territories.
• Volatile territories will not occur more frequently during the event.
• Event quests will be available from Monday, May 18th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. – Sunday, May 24th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
