① Additional weapon type: charge blade
The new update comes with fun weapons including your very own charge blade!
This weapon type has two modes: the highly maneauverable sword and the powerful axe. Charge energy while in Sword Mode and then use it in Axe Mode to inflict greater damage. Axe Mode combines the sword and shield into one epic weapon! Consider using Super Amped Element Discharge to unleash all that energy into one powerful attack!
② 3 additional large monsters
Additional monsters incoming! Odogaron, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, and Deviljho are heading your way soon!
Unlock Odogaron and Tzitzi-Ya-Ku once you’ve completed the corresponding urgent quests in the Season 1 story quest. However, during the event times introduced further down, they will appear on the field for all hunters who have completed the prologue. Deviljho on the other hand can be found through a new feature we call Invasions! Curious? Keep reading!
③ New feature: invasions
After the update, you may find that when you tap on a large monster within a volatile territory, other monsters will suddenly invade! Be aware: volatile territories will appear at random within the three habitats and Deviljho will only appear during these invasions.
④ New system: layered equipment
Layered equipment is coming to Monster Hunter Now!
Change what you’re wearing without compromising your protection! Layered equipment doesn’t have the same functionality as usual equipment, so you can change your appearance without affecting the performance of your armor. Customizing your look just got a whole lot more fun!
Upgrading armor to grade 6 will allow you to use it as layered equipment. New to upgrading? Use your materials to forge weapons and armor upgrades. You can even look forward to some new layered equipment exclusives to Monster Hunter Now!
⑤ The official start of Seasons and the Season Pass
This update will kick off a new system called Seasons!
Like earth’s seasons, each has a specific shelf life and as soon as one season expires, the next kicks off! With the change of Seasons comes a new set of monsters and quests. With the Season Pass you can collect Tier Points by completing certain requirements such as slaying large monsters while a Season is underway. Raise your Season Tier to obtain a variety of rewards.
The Season Pass will come with a Free Plan and a Premium Plan. By purchasing the Premium Plan, various rewards will be made available to be claimed.
⑥ New status ailment
Bleeding is a new status ailment that can be inflicted by Odogaron’s attacks.
A hunter that is bleeding will accumulate bleeding damage every time they attack or perform an evade. If they receive an attack while bleeding, the amount of damage accumulated will be added to the normal amount of damage for the attack, resulting in a larger loss of health. Bleeding will stop after a while if the hunter avoids attacking and evading.
⑦ New skills
With more monsters comes more equipment and skills! Latent Power, Quick Work, and Status Sneak Attack are some of the new skills hunters can look forward to.
More loadouts
The maximum number of loadouts has increased from five to ten! This increase came a little early in anticipation of the update. You can find out more in the update information.
