Hey hunters!
This is the Monster Hunter Now development team.
A new type of equipment, accessories, is coming in an update scheduled for Thursday, November 12th!
Accessories offer a new way to support your hunter alongside weapons and armor! You can even re-assign certain equipment effects to find the perfect combination for you!
What Are Accessories?
Accessories are a new type of equipment that can be equipped alongside weapons and armor. They boost your hunter’s stats through main effects and sub-effects.
Accessories unlock after completing the pre-season story, after which you’ll be able to forge them from the equipment menu.
One type of accessory will be introduced in this update, with more accessories offering a variety of effects planned for future updates.
Accessory Main Effects
Each accessory has its own fixed main effect, which becomes active as soon as the accessory is forged.
Accessories will offer a variety of effects, such as boosting specific stats or increasing element values.
You’ll be able to forge accessories after completing the pre-season story. Since main effects activate as soon as they’re forged, be sure to forge some and add them to your loadout!
Accessory Sub-Effects
In addition to their main effect, accessories can have up to three sub-effects.
Sub-effects can provide bonuses such as boosting specific stats or granting benefits when using certain weapon types. However, some accessories may not support sub-effects.
Accessories do not have any sub-effects when first forged. To add them, you’ll need to use specific materials to refine them.
Refining Sub-Effects
You can refine accessory sub-effects using Proofs of Conviction, which can be obtained by slaying 10★ monsters.
Refining randomly changes all three sub-effects. After viewing the results, you can choose to either apply all three new sub-effects or keep your existing ones.
How to Protect Specific Sub-Effects
Normally, refining affects all three sub-effects. However, if you already have a sub-effect you like, you can keep it while refining the remaining slots.
To do this, use a Lockpin item on any sub-effect you want to keep before refining. Sub-effects protected by Lockpins will remain unchanged when you refine.
One Lockpin is consumed per protected slot each time you refine. If you want to keep protecting the same slot, you’ll need to use another Lockpin before your next refinement.
How to Hunt 10★ Monsters
10★ monsters appear in certain Hunt-a-thons once the monster strength in your field reaches 8★ or higher. You can also unlock 10★ monsters in the field by completing all the Step-Up Quests displayed at the top of the Quests menu. For more details, please see here.
Accessory Available With This Update
The following accessory will be the first you can forge. More accessories will also be added regularly in the future.
■Now Keyring
- Main Effect: Defense +30
- Sub-Effects: Can be added
The materials needed to forge the Now Keyring will be available as rewards from the Accessory Acquisition Quest during the period below.
