1. LIVE: Summer update Dancing in the Tempest Part I
For more information on Part I of the summer update, Dancing in the Tempest, check out this announcement from June 6th.
2. Elder Dragon Interceptions
Elder dragons have finally made their way into the world of Monster Hunter Now! With this update, you can take on Kushala Daora in the new feature, Elder Dragon Interceptions. Hunt-a-thon Tickets have been renamed to Ultra Hunting Tickets and can now be used both in Hunt-a-thons and Elder Dragon Interceptions. Read on for more details about Elder Dragon Interceptions.
◆ What are Elder Dragon Interceptions?
- Elder Dragon Interceptions, occurring only in specific locations in the field, allow you to repel or even slay an elder dragon.
*You will need to be HR 11 or above in order to participate. - Unlike regular hunts, even if you are unable to slay an elder dragon, their assault can be repelled if you can inflict enough damage. Repel rewards are granted each time you successfully repel an elder dragon.
- Equipment forged from elder dragon materials acquired through Elder Dragon Interceptions come with exclusive skills.
◆ How to join
Before one begins:
- Elder Dragon Interceptions take place at set times, before which certain gathering points will turn into Elder Dragon Interception Points.
*This is a preliminary state so you cannot participate yet. - When the time comes, an elder dragon will appear at the Interception Point. Get within range and tap on the Point to go to the participation screen.
- Tap “Join” on the participation screen.
*Ultra Hunting Tickets will only be used up once you have successfully slayed or repelled the elder dragon and not if you fail or leave before the hunt ends. - Elder Dragon Interception Points disappear after a set time.
What happens after:
- After joining an Elder Dragon Interception or Hunt-a-thon, you must wait 180 minutes before you can join another Interception/Hunt-a-thon.
*This waiting time is shared between Elder Dragon Interceptions and Hunt-a-thons.
*It is the same regardless of whether you slayed or repelled the elder dragon. - However, an Ultra Hunting Ticket can be used to bypass this waiting time.
◆ Repelling
- Even if you are unable to slay an elder dragon, their assault can be repelled if you can inflict enough damage.
- Repel rewards are granted instead of basic rewards each time you successfully repel an elder dragon. Broken part rewards and group rewards are also applicable.
- All rewards can be increased by using a Special Carving Knife.
- The elder dragon will then disappear from the Interception Point regardless of whether it was slayed or repelled.
◆ Equipment forged from elder dragon materials
- Weapons forged from elder dragon materials come with the skill Hunter’s Unity.
- With Hunter’s Unity, the more hunters there are activating the same skill, the greater the damage inflicted.
*You can check the details of each skill in the equipment menu in-app.
3. Friend Quests
◆ What are Friend Quests?
- Friend Quests is a new feature that lets you take on challenges with your friends. Work together to achieve shared goals, such as a total number of monsters slayed.
- They can be found in the Friend tab of the Quest menu.*
*Friend Quests will be added every Thursday at 0:00 a.m. (UTC).
◆ How to participate
- You may take part in one Friend Quest per week.
- Choose the Friend Quest you want to take part in from the Friend tab of the Quest menu. You can choose to begin a new quest or join one* that your friend has already begun.
*Up to four hunters can participate in a single Friend Quest. - When beginning a new quest, you can choose between three difficulty levels.
- Once confirmed, only the selected Friend Quest will be shown in the Friend tab.
◆ Checking your quest progress
- While participating in a Friend Quest, you can check your quest progress and each friend’s contribution* by tapping on the applicable quest in the Friend Quest menu.
*On completion, hunters who have not contributed at all to the quest progress will not receive any rewards. - Tap on a hunter to see their friend details.
◆ Additional information
- Once you join a Friend Quest, you cannot opt out until the quest is completed or the quest period ends.
- Upon completing your chosen quest, you may repeat that same quest up to 5 times during the week of its completion. Rewards will be different each time.
- Friend Quests will be available to hunters HR 12 and above.
4. Sending friend requests after group hunts
After successfully slaying a monster in a group hunt(*1), you can now send a friend request(*2) to other hunters in the group. This feature has been implemented ahead of the main update on June 13th.
(*1) You cannot send a friend request after a failed hunt.
(*2) This does not apply to Hunt-a-thons and Elder Dragon Interceptions.
5. Monsters on the field from Season 2 onwards
