A special event is coming to celebrate the arrival of two new riftborne monsters: Mizutsune and Paolumu!

Starting with the August 17 update, Riftborne Mizutsune and Riftborne Paolumu will appear, and style customization will be unlocked for weapons forged from their materials. During the event, large monsters such as Mizutsune and Paolumu will appear more frequently, and event effects will make it easier to collect monster materials.

Plus, style selection for the insect glaive will also be unlocked in the same update! Check out the full details here.

Activity is expected to increase for the following monsters.

Event Effects

• More rewards for Hunt-a-thons

  • Receive two of each material in the first and second slots of basic rewards.
  • Chance of receiving 10 additional Rarity 1 materials from the slain monster.

• More rewards for group hunts

  • Guaranteed second slot of monster materials for group hunt rewards.

• More dimensionally linked monsters

• More riftborne monster activity

  • Riftborne monsters will appear more frequently (Riftborne Mizutsune, Riftborne Paolumu)

Take on limited-time quests that include slaying Mizutsune and Paolumu. Complete them to earn materials from the target monster!

Riftborne Assault: Mizutsune/Paolumu Special Field Hunt Ticket

By purchasing a Special Field Hunt Ticket, you can enjoy various bonuses to help you in your hunts! Exclusive quests will also be available only to ticket holders. Make the most of this ticket to enhance your hunting experience!

• Effects of the Special Field Hunt Ticket

  • Unlimited use of Paintballs.
  • Large monsters reappear in just 30 minutes.
  • The access range will be expanded by 50% at all times, and you will get double the materials from slaying small monsters and from gathering points.
    Cannot be combined with a Wander Orb, Wander Droplet, or Wander Powder.
  • Take on limited-time quests.
    No hunter medals will be awarded as quest rewards.

• During the following times, the only monsters that will appear on the field are Mizutsune (including Riftborne) and Paolumu (including Riftborne).

  • 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

• Separate tickets will be available for Aug. 19 (Wed) through Aug. 23 (Sun).

• Ticket effects will apply from 9:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (local time) on the corresponding date.

• Ticket sales are planned to begin around Aug. 17 (Mon).

• Tickets can be purchased via the in-app Shop, the Special Quests tab, or the Web Store. Purchases made through the Web Store include a bonus Item Box Expansion.

• The Extreme Hunter Pass is also on sale, making unlimited Paintballs even more effective by increasing your Paintball list capacity by +20. Be sure to combine them for maximum benefit!

Insect Glaive Style Quest

Take on limited-time quests that include slaying monsters while equipped with an insect glaive! Complete them to earn Mizutsune materials and riftborne materials.

Weapons primarily forged from Mizutsune materials have the water element, which is the weakness of Riftcharged Glavenus, who will be appearing in Base Defense. Mizutsune weapons are also featured defense weapons, so take this chance to forge and upgrade your insect glaive to get ready for the upcoming Base Defense!

Weapons Forgeable and Upgradeable with Mizutsune Materials

Weapons forged and upgraded using Mizutsune materials boast high water element values!

In-game, you’ll find a recommended insect glaive loadout that lets you activate the Advanced Water Attack skill, and a recommended heavy bowgun loadout with Slicing Ammo Boost, which boosts damage from Slicing Ammo. Be sure to check them out!

By overgrading your weapons to grade 8, the armor skill Artful Dodger will be unlocked. Artful Dodger makes perfect evades much easier to perform by evading at the exact moment a monster’s attack lands. Successfully performing a perfect evade grants temporary invulnerability and makes it easier to chain into an attack after evading, creating valuable opportunities to deal damage!

Premium Quests

Premium Quests are quests that can be unlocked by exchanging gems in the in-game shop. Complete these quests to earn valuable rewards!

Additional Information

• All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
• Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
• The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
• Riftborne monsters will only start to appear after you have unlocked 8★ monsters on the field.
• Event quests will be available from Monday, August 17th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. – Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
