Descent of the Azure King

Hunters,

Unusual amounts of Rathalos have been spotted flying around, which seems to indicate an increase in their numbers in the near future. And that’s not all—we’ve even got reports of what looks to be the blue-colored subspecies of Rathalos!

Azure Rathalos boasts far greater mobility than a normal Rathalos, relying on fierce aerial attacks to catch its prey unawares.

You can also look forward to event-exclusive Packs with Special Carving Knives, as well as the chance to add a Hunter Medal to your collection by completing Event Quests.

Dates and times (local time)

Azure Rathalos will appear:
・From Monday, January 15, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday, January 21, 2024, at midnight.

Rathalos and Azure Rathalos appearance rates will be boosted:
・From Friday, January 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. until Sunday, January 21, 2024, at midnight.

・Azure Rathalos will appear in low numbers in forest habitats from Monday, January 15, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. until Friday, January 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
・While appearance rates are boosted, Rathalos and Azure Rathalos will appear more frequently in forest habitats.
・From Friday, January 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. until Friday, January 21, 2024, at midnight, time-limited Event Quests will be added. Complete these quests to receive the Descent of the Azure King Medal.

Additional Information:

・With the exception of the appearance rate boost period, Azure Rathalos will only appear if you have unlocked Rathalos hunts (by completing Chapter 13).
・While appearance rates are boosted, Rathalos and Azure Rathalos will appear more frequently in forest habitats for all hunters HR 11 and above.
・Event Quests will automatically become available to all hunters HR 11 and above in the Special Quests tab in-game.
・Make sure to update your app to the latest version to see your new Hunter Medal.
・Quests will be available from Friday, January 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. until Sunday, January 21, 2024, at midnight (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
