Get ready for an influx of monster subspecies! Ebony Odogaron, Nightshade Paolumu, Coral Pukei-Pukei, Black Diablos, Azure Rathalos, and Pink Rathian are all showing signs of increased activity across the field.

During this limited-time event, you’ll be able to collect a brand-new type of Mysterious Driftstone by slaying monsters. These driftstones offer the chance to grant the skills Coalescence and Latent Power to your armor through driftsmelting.

That’s not all—Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian will appear at Hunt-a-thon points, and elder dragon repel and slay rewards will be increased throughout the event! You can even take on Elder Dragon Premium Quests, available in the shop in exchange for gems.

Event Details

Monster appearances:

• During the event, these monsters will appear more frequently in the following habitats.
  Ebony Odogaron: forest / desert / swamp / tundra habitats
  Nightshade Paolumu: desert habitats
  Coral Pukei-Pukei: forest / swamp habitats
  Black Diablos: desert habitats
  Azure Rathalos: forest habitats
  Pink Rathian: swamp habitats
  *Ebony Odogaron will appear in somewhat low numbers in forest and desert habitats.
  *Ebony Odogaron will appear on the field once you have completed the prologue.
  *Nightshade Paolumu will also appear in low numbers in forest habitats.
  *Coral Pukei-Pukei will appear in somewhat low numbers in swamp habitats.
  *Pink Rathian will also appear in low numbers in forest habitats.
  *All of the above monsters will appear on the field once you have completed the prologue and unlocked each of their regular counterparts.

Hunt-a-thon points:

• There will be some event-exclusive Hunt-a-thon points that feature Ebony Odogaron, Coral Pukei-Pukei, Black Diablos, Azure Rathalos, and Pink Rathian.
• There will be some event-exclusive Hunt-a-thon points that feature only Silver Rathalos and Azure Rathalos, or Gold Rathian and Pink Rathian.

Basic reward increases:

• In Elder Dragon Interceptions, the number of basic rewards will be doubled(*) upon repelling and increased by 50%(*) upon slaying an elder dragon.
  *You will receive two of each material in the first to fourth slots of basic rewards.
• Additionally, during regular gameplay, Elder Dragon Interceptions will now occur slightly more often at points where Hunt-a-thons and Interceptions can occur.

Driftstones:

• The limited-time Mysterious Driftstone F may be obtained by slaying any large monster.
• During the event, Silver Rathalos, Gold Rathian, Ebony Odogaron, Nightshade Paolumu, Coral Pukei-Pukei, Black Diablos, Azure Rathalos, and Pink Rathian are guaranteed to drop Mysterious Driftstone F.
  *Regular driftstones will not drop from the above monsters.
• During the event, Kushala Daora, Teostra, Nergigante, and Kirin are guaranteed to drop Mysterious Driftstone F.
• All other large monsters may drop either a regular driftstone or Mysterious Driftstone F.
• The distance required for driftsmelting with driftstones obtained during this event period will be reduced from the usual 5 km to 2.5 km.
  *Driftgems, including Mysterious Driftgem F, will require 5 km.
• Mysterious Driftgem F will be eligible for exchanging driftstone shards.
• Mysterious Driftstone F and Mysterious Driftgem F may grant your armor the skills Coalescence and Latent Power. More details about Mysterious Driftstone F will be added to theFAQ here at a later date.

Limited-time quests:
Take on limited-time quests that include slaying or repelling elder dragons, slaying Silver Rathalos, and more.

Skill: Coalescence

Mysterious Driftstone F may grant your armor the skill Coalescence.

Skill: Coalescence
Skill effect: Increases damage for a short time after recovering from abnormal status.
What to know: Even if you nullify abnormal status using skills like Poison Resistance or Paralysis Resistance (which can be granted through driftsmelting), you’ll still immediately gain the effects of this skill.

About Elder Dragon Premium Quests

Elder Dragon Premium Quests can be unlocked by exchanging gems in the in-game shop. Complete these quests to earn valuable rewards!
*Four types of Premium Quests will be available: Premium Quest: Kushala Daora Materials, Premium Quest: Teostra Materials, Premium Quest: Nergigante Materials, and Premium Quest: Kirin Materials.

*Driftstones can be obtained when you have space to store new ones.
*The distance required to smelt a driftstone acquired before the event period will remain 5 km even if it is smelted during the event period, but the distance required for a driftstone acquired by hunting a monster during the event period will remain 2.5 km after the event period ends.
*The distance required to smelt driftgems obtained by exchanging driftstone shards will remain the same during the event.
*To forge equipment using materials obtained from Premium Quests, you must first slay the corresponding monster or unlock it on the field.
