Numbers of Coral Pukei-Pukei, Legiana, Rathian, Arzuros, and Pukei-Pukei are on the rise, Deviljho invasions are expected to increase in volatile territories, and we should even see some Gold Rathian appearances!

Reports also show that a brand-new type of driftstone can be obtained when slaying monsters during this event. This new driftstone may grant your armor the skills Critical Boost, Critical Eye, and Weakness Exploit.

In addition, look out for Premium Quests, which can be exchanged for Gems in the in-game shop.

Event Details

Monster appearances:

• During the event, Gold Rathian will appear in desert and swamp habitats.
• The following monsters will appear more frequently in the specified habitats.
  Coral Pukei-Pukei: forest / swamp habitats
  Legiana: tundra habitats
  Rathian: forest / desert habitats
  Arzuros: forest habitats
  Pukei-Pukei: swamp habitats
  *The following monsters will also appear in regular numbers in these habitats: Legiana and Arzuros in swamp habitats, Pukei-Pukei in forest and desert habitats.
• During the event, Deviljho will appear more frequently in volatile territories, and it will be the only monster to invade in volatile territories.
  *Volatile territories themselves will not occur more frequently.

Hunt-a-thon points:

• There will be some event-exclusive Hunt-a-thon points featuring Coral Pukei-Pukei, Deviljho, and Pukei-Pukei.
• There will be some event-exclusive Hunt-a-thon points featuring Gold Rathian and Rathian.

Driftstones:

• Slay any large monster to obtain the limited-time Mysterious Driftstone G.
• During the event, Gold Rathian, Coral Pukei-Pukei, Legiana, Deviljho, Rathian, Arzuros, and Pukei-Pukei are guaranteed to drop Mysterious Driftstone G.
  *Regular Driftstones will not drop from the above monsters.
• All other large monsters may drop either a regular driftstone or Mysterious Driftstone G.
• The distance required for driftsmelting with driftstones obtained during this event period will be reduced from the usual 5 km to 2.5 km.
  *Driftgems including Mysterious Driftgem G will require 5 km.
• Mysterious Driftgem G will be eligible for exchanging driftstone shards.
• Mysterious Driftstone G and Mysterious Driftgem G may grant your armor the skills Critical Boost, Critical Eye, and Weakness Exploit.
• This FAQ will be updated soon with more information on Mysterious Driftstone G.

Take on limited-time quests that include slaying Gold Rathian and Deviljho.

Mysterious Driftstone G may grant your armor the skills Critical Boost, Critical Eye, and Weakness Exploit.
By combining these skills, you can boost your chances for critical hits and further increase the damage of each hit.

Skill: Critical Boost
Skill effect: Increases the damage multiplier of critical hits.

Skill: Critical Eye
Skill effect: Increases affinity.

Skill: Weakness Exploit
Skill effect: Increases affinity when attacking a monster’s weak spot.

About Premium Quests

Premium Quests are quests that can be unlocked by exchanging gems in the in-game shop. Complete these quests to earn valuable rewards!

*Two types of Premium Quests will be available: Premium Quest: Gold Rathian Materials and Premium Quest: Deviljho Materials.

*All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
*Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
*Driftsmelting, volatile territories on the field, and Deviljho invasions can all be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
*The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
*Event quests will be available from Monday, May 26th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday, June 1st, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
*Driftstones can be obtained when you have space to store new ones.
*The distance required to smelt a driftstone acquired before the event period will remain 5 km even if it is smelted during the event period, but the distance required for a driftstone acquired by hunting a monster during the event period will remain 2.5 km after the event period ends.
*The distance required to smelt driftgems obtained by exchanging driftstone shards will remain the same during the event.
*To forge equipment using materials obtained from Premium Quests, you must first slay the corresponding monster or unlock it on the field.
