We’re seeing increased activity from Teostra, Bazelgeuse, Mizutsune, Nightshade Paolumu, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, and Great Girros!
Reports also show that a brand-new type of driftstone will be available for you to collect by slaying monsters during this event. This new driftstone offers the chance to grant powerful skills like the newly introduced Ailment Opportunist and the existing Status Sneak Attack and Blast Attack to your armor. What’s more, the distance required for driftsmelting with driftstones acquired during the event will be reduced from 5 km to just 1 km!

Event Details
Monster appearances
- During the event, the following monsters will appear more frequently in the specified habitats.
Bazelgeuse: forest / desert / swamp / tundra habitats
Mizutsune: forest / swamp / tundra habitats
Nightshade Paolumu: forest / desert habitats
Tzitzi-Ya-Ku: desert / swamp habitats
Great Girros: forest / swamp habitats - Bazelgeuse will also appear more frequently in volatile territories.
- Volatile territories themselves will not occur more frequently.
- Mizutsune will appear somewhat more frequently in tundra habitats than in forest or swamp habitats.
- Bazelgeuse will be the only monster to invade in volatile territories.
Hunt-a-thons
Event-exclusive Hunt-a-thon points featuring the following monster combinations will appear at random:
- Bazelgeuse, Mizutsune, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku only
- Bazelgeuse, Mizutsune, Nightshade Paolumu, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, Great Girros only
- Bazelgeuse, Mizutsune only
Elder Dragon Interceptions
- During the event, Elder Dragon Interceptions will feature only Teostra.
Reward increases
- During the event, basic rewards for the following monsters will increase by 50%: Bazelgeuse, Mizutsune, Nightshade Paolumu, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, Great Girros.
You will receive two of each material in the first and second slots of basic rewards.
Driftstones
- During the event, slaying Bazelgeuse, Mizutsune, Nightshade Paolumu, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, or Great Girros will guarantee you Mysterious Driftstone H.
Regular driftstones will not drop from the above monsters. - Slaying or repelling Teostra will guarantee you Mysterious Driftstone H.
Regular driftstones will not drop from the above monster. - There is also a chance of obtaining Mysterious Driftstone H when slaying any other large monster.
- The distance required for driftsmelting with driftstones obtained during this event period will be reduced from the usual 5 km to 1 km.
Driftgems, including Mysterious Driftgem H, will require 5 km. - Mysterious Driftgem H will be eligible for exchanging driftstone shards.
- Mysterious Driftstone H and Mysterious Driftgem H may grant your armor the skills Ailment Opportunist, Status Sneak Attack, and Blast Attack.

New skill: Ailment Opportunist
Skill: Ailment Opportunist
Skill effect: Your next attack with a status-inducing weapon will be guaranteed to inflict status buildup after performing a perfect evade. As the skill level increases, the buildup value for status effects inflicted when the effect triggers will also increase.
Limited-time quests
Take on limited-time quests that include slaying Mizutsune and Nightshade Paolumu.
Main rewards lineup:
- Insta-Smelt Solution
- Gatherable materials including Earth Crystals and Carpenterbugs
- Monster materials including a Mizutsune Plate and Wyvern Gem Shard
Premium Quests
Premium Quests are quests that can be unlocked by exchanging gems in the in-game shop. Complete these quests to earn valuable rewards!
- The following Premium Quests will be available: Premium Quest: Teostra Materials, Premium Quest: Bazelgeuse Materials, and Premium Quest: Mizutsune Materials

- In addition to the above, completing each quest will grant 100 Hunter Rank Points, 50 Season Tier Points, and 5,000 Zenny.
Additional Information
- All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
- Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
- Event quests will be available from Monday, June 30th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday, July 6th, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
- Driftsmelting can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
- Appearances of volatile territories on the field can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies. - To forge equipment using materials obtained from Premium Quests, you must first slay the corresponding monster or unlock it on the field.
- Driftstones can be obtained when you have space to store new ones.
- The distance required to smelt a driftstone acquired before the event period will remain 5 km even if it is smelted during the event period, but the distance required for a driftstone acquired by hunting a monster during the event period will remain 1 km after the event period ends.
- The distance required to smelt driftgems obtained by exchanging driftstone shards will remain the same during the event.
