This year’s Lunar New Year event is the perfect chance to upgrade Rathalos and Quematrice equipment. Simply by progressing through the event, weapons forged from Rathalos materials can be upgraded all the way to grade 8.

Event-Exclusive: LNY 2026 Pass

Get the event-exclusive LNY 2026 Pass! By clearing the LNY 2026 Pass Quest: Rathalos and LNY 2026 Pass Quest: Quematrice, available during this event, you’ll raise your Event Tier and receive rewards based on your Tier level. The LNY 2026 Pass includes a Free Plan and a paid Premium Plan. Purchasing the Premium Plan lets you earn even more rewards.

Rewards include Rathalos materials and Quematrice materials. Use them to forge and upgrade Rathalos weapons, now featured defense weapons, as well as Quematrice weapons!

Event-Exclusive New Item: Rathalos Style Customization Material

Collect new materials that help with style customization! Using Style Customization Materials when customizing a weapon grants a large amount of Style Customization Points.

The Rathalos Style Customization Material introduced in this event can be used on Rathalos weapons, which become eligible for style customization starting with the same update.
Earn these materials from Event Exchange Hub rewards and Event Quests, and keep upgrading with style customization!

Lance Style Quest

Take on limited-time quests that include slaying monsters while equipped with a lance! Complete them to earn Rathalos materials and riftborne materials.

A ticket that lets you accept an exclusive quest will be available in the shop!
Complete the quest to earn a Forging Ticket for the Lunar New Year–themed exclusive arm armor, Auspicious Dragon Gauntlets, along with two exclusive stickers!

The Auspicious Dragon Gauntlets come with Dauntless Lv. 2 and also grant the Lock On skill. This is a limited-time opportunity, so don’t miss out!

Skill Name: Dauntless
Effect: Damage increases for 10 seconds after performing a forward evasion.

The Dauntless skill is also available on the Quematrice waist armor, Quematrice Coil, and can be upgraded to Lv. 2. In addition, it may be granted through driftsmelting using an Amber Driftstone.
Combining these options to raise Dauntless all the way to Lv. 5 is highly recommended!

Upgrade Material Requirements Reduced!

During the following times, the materials needed to upgrade LNY event-exclusive equipment including the Auspicious Dragon Gauntlets will be greatly reduced! You can upgrade your equipment up to a certain grade using only LNY Upgrade Tickets, without using Zenny or gatherable materials.

• LNY Upgrade Tickets can be obtained by slaying large monsters, slaying or repelling elder dragons, and through specific quests.
• Past LNY-exclusive equipment can also be upgraded using LNY Upgrade Tickets.
• After the event ends, LNY Upgrade Tickets will no longer be required, but the type and amount of materials needed will increase.
• You may need to restart the app for the changes to take effect properly.

Weapons Forgeable and Upgradeable with Rathalos Materials

Weapons forged or upgraded using Rathalos materials boast high element values, making them a great match with skills that further boost element attack power.
Starting with the update on Feb. 16 (Mon), you’ll also be able to forge new dual blades from Rathalos materials! In-game, you’ll find recommended loadouts for the lance, for which style selection will have been unlocked, as well as for the newly available dual blades forged from Rathalos materials. Be sure to check them out!

Additional Information

• All hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
• Event-exclusive equipment may become available again at a later date.
• To upgrade event-exclusive equipment, you may need not only specified tickets but also monster materials.
• Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
• The Event Exchange Hub will be available until Sunday, March 8th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time).
• Exchangeable materials will be removed from your Item Box once the exchange period ends. Be sure to trade them in before it ends.
• Riftborne monsters will only start to appear after you have unlocked 8★ monsters on the field.
• Appearances of volatile territories on the field can be unlocked by completing the pre-season story.
  The pre-season story refers to the period from the end of the prologue to the completion of Chapter 13: Sunderer of the Skies.
• During specific times, Deviljho will not invade in volatile territories.

• Volatile territories will not occur more frequently during the event.
