Gear up with event-exclusive equipment for Lucky Lunar New Year 2025!

This year, we’re bringing back the popular Lunar New Year celebration!

In addition to the return of exclusive equipment from the 2024 event, a dragon-element light bowgun will also make its debut. Each of these pieces of equipment scales their performance based on the strength of the monsters you hunt during the event period. This is a prime chance to prepare so you can use your performance-enhanced equipment when hunting the legendary elder dragon Kirin after February 1st! And even if you don’t have high-grade weapons or armor yet, these will provide you with the opportunity to challenge tough monsters.

What’s more, exclusive Lunar New Year-themed packs including layered equipment will be available for purchase. Dress in auspicious outfits and join the New Year hunt in style!

Finally, it looks like we can also expect an increase in the numbers of Pink Rathian and Banbaro, as well as sightings of Gold Rathian on the field.

Event Details:

Lunar New Year event-exclusive equipment:
The Lucky Light Bowgun makes its debut, available only during the event period! Plus, equipment from the 2024 Lunar New Year event—the Lucky Dragon Hammer, Fortune Dragon Fans, and Dragon Dance Mask—are making a comeback. To forge and upgrade this exclusive equipment, you’ll need specific tickets:

• Tickets for the Dragon Dance Mask can be obtained as rewards from limited-time quests.

• Tickets for the Lucky Light Bowgun, Lucky Dragon Hammer, and Fortune Dragon Fans can be earned as additional rewards when you slay Gold Rathian, Pink Rathian, or Banbaro(*).
  *There will be two additional reward slots, with a chance to randomly draw one ticket per slot.
  The performance of this equipment will change based on the ★ (difficulty) of the monsters hunted during the event period.
  *Their performance will not decrease when hunting lower-difficulty monsters.

• Lucky Light Bowgun (Light Bowgun)
  Skill: Slugger
  Skill effect: Increases the chance of inflicting paralysis on a monster.
  Necessary tickets: LNY 2025 Light Bowgun Ticket
  *Number of tickets needed for forging and upgrading: 20
  *Tickets are no longer necessary after grade 7.

• Lucky Dragon Hammer (Hammer)
  Element: Dragon
  Skill: Divine Blessing
  Skill effect: Chance of reducing damage from a monster’s attack.
  Necessary tickets: LNY 2024 Hammer Ticket *Back from last year!
  *Number of tickets needed for forging and upgrading: 20
  *Tickets are no longer necessary after grade 7.

• Fortune Dragon Fans (Dual Blades)
  Element: Dragon
  Skill: Divine Blessing
  Skill effect: Chance of reducing damage from a monster’s attack.
  Necessary tickets: LNY 2024 Dual Blades Ticket *Back from last year!
  *Number of tickets needed for forging and upgrading: 20
  *Tickets are no longer necessary after grade 7.

• Dragon Dance Mask (Head Armor)
  Skill: Critical Boost
  Skill effect: Increases the damage multiplier of critical hits.
  Necessary tickets: LNY 2024 Armor Ticket *Back from last year!
  *Number of tickets needed for forging and upgrading: 6
  *Tickets are no longer necessary after grade 5.

Monster appearances:

• During the event, Gold Rathian will appear in low numbers in desert and swamp habitats.
• During the event, these monsters will appear more frequently in the following habitats:
  　Pink Rathian: Forest and swamp habitats
  　Banbaro: Forest, swamp, and tundra habitats
• More monsters will appear across the field.

Hunt-a-thon points:

• There will be some event-exclusive Hunt-a-thon points featuring Gold Rathian, Pink Rathian, Banbaro, and others.

Limited-time quests:

• Take on limited-time quests that include slaying Gold Rathian, Pink Rathian, and Banbaro.

*During the event period, all hunters who have completed the prologue can enjoy the event content.
*Event quests will automatically become available in the Special Quests tab to all hunters who have completed the prologue.
*Quests will be available from Monday, January 27th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests and receive your rewards between these times.
*In order to forge or upgrade event-exclusive equipment, each weapon requires 20 tickets and armor requires 6 tickets. Collect the required tickets during the event, and you’ll still be able to forge and upgrade even after the event ends.
*Upgrading event-exclusive equipment may also require specific materials alongside the tickets.
*To forge the Hammer, Dual Blades, or Light Bowgun, you must have completed chapter 2 of the pre-season story.
