As part of the second update for Season 4: Roars from the Winterwind, Kirin will appear in Elder Dragon Interceptions from Saturday, February 1st, 2025! You can also look forward to the Kirin Set of armor with new skills and additional thunder-element weapons.

And to celebrate the arrival of Kirin, we’re hosting a paid online event: Monster Hunter Now Winter Hunt 2025! Purchasing an event ticket ensures that Kirin is the only elder dragon appearing in Elder Dragon Interceptions during the event period. Don’t miss this opportunity to take on Kirin and upgrade your equipment! Ticket holders will also receive an exclusive layered armor set featuring Kirin.

Kirin Makes Its Appearance!

When to expect it:

• Saturday, February 1st, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. (local time)
  *Kirin will appear for all hunters at Elder Dragon Interception points that enter the preliminary state after the above time.
  *It will also appear at 8★ Elder Dragon Interception points but only hunters with a Hunter Rank of 100 or higher will be able to participate.

About Kirin:
Although classified as an elder dragon, it is a monster so exceedingly rare that almost nothing is known about it, lending it an almost mythical quality. It is said to be able to manipulate electricity, coating its entire body in lightning.

Equipment that can be forged from Kirin materials (for all hunters):

• Weapons
  Element: Thunder
  Weapon types: Sword & Shield, Dual Blades, Great Sword, Lance, Switch Axe, Light Bowgun, Heavy Bowgun
• Armor
  Name: Kirin Set
  A new skill has been added that increases the attack power of thunder-element attacks and also makes it easier to dispel paralysis.

Dates and Times:

• Ticket sales period
  From Tuesday, January 14th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, at 9:59 p.m. (local time)

• Event period
  From Saturday, February 1st, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (local time)

Exclusive bonuses for ticket holders:

• You can obtain the Winter Hunt 2025 outfit at the time of purchase.
• Only Kirin will appear in Elder Dragon Interceptions.
  *Kushala Daora, Teostra, and Nergigante will not appear for ticket holders during the event period. They will return after the event ends.
• Points where Hunt-a-thons and Elder Dragon Interceptions usually occur will be more likely to become Elder Dragon Interception points during the event.
• The waiting time after participating in Elder Dragon Interceptions and Hunt-a-thons will be eliminated, allowing you to join at any time.
• The appearance rate of dimensionally linked monsters will increase during the event.
• The time until the reappearance of large monsters will be reduced to 30 minutes.
• The access range will be expanded to 1.5 times its usual size at all times(*).
  *Cannot be combined with a Wander Orb or Wander Droplet.
• The limited-time event quest Monster Hunter Now Winter Hunt 2025 will be available.

Monster Hunter Now Winter Hunt 2025 limited-time event quest:

• Take on limited-time quests that include slaying or repelling Kirin.
  *Only available to those who have purchased the event ticket.

How to purchase event tickets and additional notes:

• Tickets can be purchased from the in-app Shop, the Special Quests tab, or the Web Store. Only purchases made through the Web Store will include an additional 100 bonus gems.
• Any hunters HR 11 or higher may purchase tickets.
• Please note that once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded (subject to exceptions as stated in the applicable laws and the Terms of Service).

Take On Kirin With Lunar New Year Event-Exclusive Equipment!

Starting Monday, January 27th, 2025, the Lucky Lunar New Year 2025 event will bring exclusive equipment: Lucky Light Bowgun, Lucky Dragon Hammer, Fortune Dragon Fans, and Dragon Dance Mask. The traits of these weapons will change based on the ★ (difficulty) of the monsters you hunt during the event period. Hunters who don’t yet have high-grade weapons and armor, take advantage of this equipment and take on Kirin during the event!

Additional Information

*Kirin will appear in Elder Dragon Interceptions even for those who have not purchased the paid event ticket.
*Event quests will be available from Saturday, February 1st, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. until Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Be sure to complete the quests within this time frame to claim your rewards.
