During this upcoming event, it looks like slaying Deviljho, Coral Pukei-Pukei, or Barioth might reward you with a new type of driftstone instead of the usual ones. This driftstone can even grant your armor some brand-new skills, Dauntless and Headstrong! Better yet, the chances of obtaining driftstones as basic rewards are increased during the event. In the year-end portion of the event, get your hands on exciting rewards including the exclusive Lagombi Christmas Sweater layered equipment, a special hunter medal, and a unique guild card background. Additionally, slaying the featured monsters during the event may reward you with Mysterious Driftstones which appeared in past events, instead of regular driftstones. What’s more, the New Year portion of the event will feature yet another guild card background different from the year-end one! Of course, that’s not all—we’re expecting an increase in activity of various monsters across this event season so prepare for plenty of action. Hunters, We’re excited to announce the arrival of an additional weapon type: the Switch Axe! The Switch Axe lets you switch skillfully between two modes: the long-reaching Axe Mode and the fast-attacking Sword Mode. Switching from Axe to Sword requires building up the Switch Gauge. While in Axe Mode, the gauge fills over time, with successful hits, or by performing a Morph Slash. While in Sword Mode, the Switch Gauge is depleted, and once depleted, the weapon will automatically return to Axe Mode. Sword Mode also grants additional effects and follow-up attacks based on the type of phial equipped. Activate Zero Sum Discharge (SP) to sink your Sword Mode Switch Axe into the monster, before discharging all of your phial’s energy. To help you master the Switch Axe, we’ve prepared some special limited-time quests. Take advantage of this weapon’s versatility to gain an edge in your hunts!
