Almudron

As its name implies, Almudron spends a great deal of time lurking in mud—at least until it emerges to smother approaching prey. From its tail oozes a strange golden fluid, which Almudron uses to dissolve the ground beneath its prey, arresting them in a mire so that it can drag them under. When enraged, it produces more fluid, turning the mud golden. When you see gold, watch out!

Useful Information

This monster’s attacks can generate fluids that turn the ground into golden mud. This mud inflicts continuous damage and slows movement.

Additionally, it creates mud whirlpools that may pull hunters in and launch them skywards, so it’s best to keep your distance from these whirlpools. Furthermore, caution is needed when an Almudron leaps high into the air.

If you see splashes appear on the ground, this is a sign that the mud is about to erupt, so pay attention to your footing.

Its weak point is its massive tail. When it takes hold of a large mud ball with its tail, it will perform a powerful wide-area attack—however, the large mud ball is easily breakable, and doing so will stagger Almudron. The tail itself is also fairly vulnerable, so focus your attacks on it.
