Shogun Ceanataur

A large carapaceon that nests in swamps. It possesses long, sharp claws that it wields like scythes. These distinctive claws are usually retracted, but when enraged, they unfold to become merciless blades capable of slicing through wide areas. Like other carapaceons, its back is covered in a shell; however, this shell can take various forms, being anything from another monster’s skull to a giant conch shell. Some specimens have been observed skillfully using a monster’s skull to release jets of water.

It unleashes a variety of attacks using its left and right claws. Be aware that some of these attacks can inflict the bleeding status effect.

Also, when it spreads its claws wide, its attack range expands significantly. Breaking specific body parts is a notably effective strategy when facing a Shogun Ceanataur: in particular, both of its claws can be broken, greatly narrowing its attack range.

Furthermore, destroying the large shell on its back exposes a weak point that is highly vulnerable to damage. However, when it is not carrying a shell, its movements become faster, and it may retreat underground to find a new one. You should also be wary of its water breath that it performs after finding a new shell.

While its legs cannot be broken, inflicting enough damage on them can cause this monster to topple to the ground, so focusing your attacks on them is also effective.
