Announcing the Official Launch of Exploration Bases!

Hunters,

Exploration bases are officially launching with Season 7! Thank you for helping us with beta testing in July. With the full release, we’d like to share an overview of its features along with the improvements made based on beta feedback.

Message from the Development Team

Exploration bases were created to expand the ways you can enjoy your hunter life in Monster Hunter Now. Thanks to all of your participation and valuable feedback during the beta test, we’re excited to bring this feature to full release. Thank you sincerely!

Exploration bases will continue to evolve, adding new elements such as community features for local hunters, convenience upgrades, and ways to contribute to your base simply by enjoying your regular hunts. We’ll keep updating this feature to make it even more engaging, so please continue sharing your opinions and feedback after launch!

What is an Exploration Base?

An exploration base is a local landmark that hunters in the area work together to develop. Within each 3-week Wave, nearby hunters cooperate by submitting Exploration Emblems through exploration reports to help grow their base.

During every Wave, monster outbreaks will occur! The more developed your base, the greater the goal rewards during these outbreaks.

At the end of each Wave, the Base Awards will be held. There, you can see your own contributions, celebrate the growth of your base, and recognize the hunters worldwide who contributed the most.

The Base Awards: Rewards

If conditions are met, you’ll earn the following reward:

Item Box Expansion +500

Reward Conditions
  • Achieve at least 2,000 base reputation in the exploration base that gained the most reputation.
  • Rewards can only be received from one base per Wave (even if you qualify in multiple bases).

Key Improvements & New Features Since Beta

Based on your feedback, we’ve made these improvements:

  • Hunter info (name, avatar) will no longer be displayed in the activity list of reported Exploration Emblems on the exploration base menu.
  • You can now skip the animation when obtaining Exploration Emblems from a location for the first time.
  • The slaying goal for outbreaks is now fixed at 100, regardless of base level. Goal rewards will still scale with base level.
  • For lower-level bases, the required Exploration Emblems from Hunt-a-thons and Elder Dragon Interceptions have been reduced.

New features include:

  • Wave system: The growth of bases takes place in Waves that span around 3 weeks. Monster outbreaks occur during these Waves. At the end of each Wave, a 1-day tally period is held, and a new Wave begins the next day.
  • The Base Awards: At the Base Awards, your achievements and contributions toward the bases you helped to develop, as well as those of hunters worldwide, will be recognized.
  • Leaderboard updates: Hunters ranked on the leaderboard will have their rank displayed in the lobby and hunting screens when participating in an outbreak at that base.
  • Exploration Emblem updates (Distant Exploration Bonus): Emblems collected farther from your base grant more reputation when reported.
  • Slaying Emblem: Earn one for every 10 large monsters slain in the field (excluding Elder Dragon Interceptions and Hunt-a-thons). These can be reported like Exploration Emblems to help develop your base, but they disappear after a Wave ends and do not carry over between Waves.

Planned Future Updates

We’re already preparing additional updates, including:

  • Ability to check your base’s development status from afar.
  • Special features unlocked by raising your base level.
  • Simple communication tools for hunters within a base.
  • Enhancements to Slaying Emblems to further incentivize the slaying of specific or high-difficulty monsters.
  • A default base system that prioritizes the base you contribute to most when multiple bases are nearby.
