Somnacanth

A ferocious type of Leviathan. The sight of it at night, illuminated by moonlight, is often mistaken for a mermaid. It emits an anaesthetizing powder from its tail and the frill around its neck in order to cause prey to fall into a stupor. Some Somnacanth sightings tell of this species making use of unusual shells, so exercise caution if you catch one swimming towards you with a shell in its claws.

This monster utilizes three different types of status ailment: sleep, blind and blast. Its sleep-inducing powder is perhaps the most dangerous, leaving you completely defenseless to its attacks.

It becomes enraged after roaring, causing the color of its fin to change. In this state, the range of its sleep powder increases.

The frequency of its sleep-inducing actions and damage of its attacks pose great danger. However, the Sleep Resistance skill can offer you a significant advantage, allowing you to gain the upper hand against it.
